QUOTE 21, OCTOBER 2013
.
.
Are you constantly running to get things done? I know, I am but I have learned that when I stop and slow down, I can really speed ahead in thought and energy.  It seems counterintuitive, but sometimes the only way to deal with the speed is to slow things down.  In order to be the best in the world, sometimes Mo Farah has to be Less Farah, sometimes even No Farah. Usain Bolt has to -at least part of the time – be Usain Halt. Many of us are trying to do the work equivalent of the 100 metre sprint – over and over again, day after day, – on the sleep equivalent of a broken leg.  Here are some gems to inspire you to slow down.
.
.
Forgoing sleep is a bad idea. You might get a few extra hours now but you pay in spades later – you become more stubborn, lose your creativity, have diminished morale, lose motivation and become more irritable.
Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson (Founders of 37 Signals)

.
What you focus on, gets completed.  Being so hectic, we always switch our attention in a million different directions all the time. Do one at a time.
Leo Babauta (Power of Less)

You can lose 20 pounds a year by eating slowly. The reason is that it takes 20 minutes for the brain to register that we are full.  Taste great food and enjoy it fully.  Make your meals a pleasure, not something you do in a rushed way between stressful events.

Only when your consciousness is totally focused on the moment you are in, can you receive whatever gift, lesson, or delight that moment has to offer….Slow down to enjoy the day.

.

This art of resting the mind and the power of dismissing from it all care and worry is probably one of the secrets of energy in our great men.                                               Captain J.A. Hadfield

If you neglect to recharge a battery, it dies. Are you recharging your batteries? Simply, slow down. Wherever you are be there and enjoy the journey.
