The Lucky Country

Week 4 – January 2010

Gooday from ‘The Lucky Country’. In the great land down under, today is Australia Day, so I have included some Aussie inspiration this week. One of the things I love when flying home is hearing Peter Allen’s song, “I still call Australia Home.”

I’ve been to cities that never close down
From New York to Rio and old London town
But no matter how far
Or how wide I roam
I still call Australia home.

A few words of wisdom from one of our most successful businessmen and one of our sporting legends

Our most productive investment remains our people.
Richard Pratt

The time your game is most vulnerable is when you’re ahead, never let up.
Rod Laver

(I had to add in a touch of tennis from the Aussie Open!)

And a great Australian Aboriginal proverb

Those who lose dreaming are lost.

And as the end of the song goes…
No matter how far
Or how wide I roam
I still call Australia home.

With love from the great land down under
