QUOTE 20 – OCTOBER 2016
Greetings this week come to you from the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore, where the top eight players in women’s tennis are competing for the most prestigious trophies and a whopping US$7 million purse. Another great tennis coaches conference has also been held here and thus my inspiration this week comes from some of the speakers and their speeches.
Â
The success of every woman should be the inspiration to another. We should raise each other up.
Serena Williams: Winner of 22 Grand Slam Singles titles and 4 Gold Medals
Patience: Listen, Learn, Lead and don’t squeeze six months of work into two months.
Always think big picture.

Fame and success and titles stay with you, but they wear out eventually. In the end, all that you are left with is your character.
Ana Ivanovic:Â Former World #1 tennis player
Great questions to ask yourself from Troy Engle:
Who is coaching you?
Who do you have on speed dial when the times get tough?
Who are your mentors?
What are you reading to inspire you?
What are you doing to be the best you?
Troy Engle: Director of Coach Development, Singapore Sports Institute
Never give up. Believe in yourself and you can always achieve your dreams, be it in sport or in life.
Arantxa Sanchez Vicario: Winner of 14 Grand Slam titles
The fear of losing is twice as powerful as the hope of winning.

Real Purpose – pick one or two things to change that day. Â
Darren Cahill
I never lose. Either I win or I learn.
