Chinese Proverbs

WEEK 2 – SEPTEMBER 2008

As you read your Quinnnessential Quotes this week, I will be 30,000 feet up in the air en-route to Beijing for the Paralympics. It is sure to be a fantastic week ahead and I am very much looking forward to helping a few athletes achieve their golden dreams. This weeks quotes thus come from China. There are so many wonderful Chinese proverbs to share from 4000 years of civilized history. Here are just a few gems.

Teachers open the door. You enter by yourself.

A child’s life is like a piece of paper on which every person leaves a mark.

Be not afraid of growing slowly, be afraid only of standing still.

Be the first to the field and the last to the couch.

Deep doubt, deep wisdom; small doubts, little wisdom.

The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials.

Hope your week is a golden one.

Love from Beijing
Ann
