WEEK 3 – APRIL 2009

I was very fortunate a few weeks back to enjoy a wonderful week at the Lifestyle Retreat – Gwinganna up in the Gold Coast hinterland. I can strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from their busy lifestyles to relax, unwind, nourish your body and nurture your spirit. The facilities were superb, the organic food delicious and the Spa Sanctuary was the perfect place to unwind each afternoon and enjoy some amazing treatments.

Each morning began at 5.30 watching the sun rise out of the ocean whilst practicing the ancient art of Qi Gong, a restorative moving meditation.

You possess the ability to tap a bottomless well of physical and psychic energy (called “chi” in Chinese). With it, you can harness the magical power of the universe. Yet most of us unknowingly block the flow of this power, and live out our lives not reaching the potential that we could achieve if we only knew how.

This was followed by an exhilarating hike through the hinterland, surrounded by beautiful views of the valleys, before sitting down to a delicious breakfast. A perfect start to a day!

Take time to discover nature, instead of rushing by. It’s amazing what you see when you have a clear mind.

After breakfast, it was exercise time – a time to do some Yin or Yang activities depending on how you felt. Some were challenging and familiar and others were unique and fun.

Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.
John F. Kennedy

This was followed by a delicious juice, a lecture on health and a scrumptious lunch. Afternoons were dedicated to Dreamtime – a time to relax and recover and enjoy some amazing massages and treatments.

The art of resting the mind and the power of dismissing from it all care and worry is probably one of the secrets of energy in our great men.
Capt. J.A. Hadfield

A superb way to spend a week and come back all rejuvenated, relaxed and ready to take on the world again. Do it!

Love and blessings
