5th DECEMBER 2005
Today has been a day of sadness for me for it is today I lost my Mum just one year ago. It has also been so much more:
A day of celebration remembering all those great times together;
A day of laughter chuckling at all her great jokes;
A day of reflection for all the lessons learned;
A day to be grateful for the amazing sacred contract I received from God;
A day to look around and cherish the beautiful garden she lovingly tendered;
A day to just listen to all those things your mother told you!
A day of gratitude to give thanks for Mum’s love and support,
A day of quietness of special moments with my Dad,
A day of prayer for all that was, is and will be, because of you, Mum.
A MOTHER’S LOVE
A Mother’s love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendoured miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God’s tender guiding hand.
