WEEK 2 JUNE 2011
I had a great time last week down at Weymouth for the Olympic Sailing Trials. Sailing is not a sport I know heaps about so it was with eyes wide open that I was observing all the details and finding out what the competitors were doing. What really stood out for me were the differences in professionalism and preparation amongst the competitors. This was a life time opportunity to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games. At the top level in sport and business you must take care of every little detail and not leave anything to the last minute. It is what you do today that determines your success tomorrow. There are no second chances in the Olympics and so too in business. One slip up can cost you the deal. One mistake can set you back a mile. Are you doing all you can to prepare to win in what you do?
Excellence is in the details. Give attention to the details and excellence will come.
Perry Paxton
Success always comes when preparation meets opportunity.
Henry Hartman
When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your goal.
Napoleon Hill
It is the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.
John Wooden
Have a great week. Don’t just plan to win. Prepare in detail and expect to win!
Wishing you Quintessential Success
