Throughout our busy lives today we are all distracted constantly with phones, social media, sport, movies, TV, news, games and so forth. When we do not give full attention to what we are doing, it makes us be late, miss deadlines, lose tennis matches (for all my tennis subscribers) and can be the difference between winning and losing in all sports. Sadly too, that split second glance away can cause accidents and tragedy, which is what happened to a friend this week who lost her beautiful 10 year old son, Jack when he was hit by a car. My message this month is for all of us, no matter what you are doing, to be where you are – totally in the moment. Everyday is a gift. Wherever you are, be all there and don’t be distracted.
Be there for those close to you.
Be fully invested in the moment. Listen intently. Your kids don’t need presents. What they really need is your presence and so it is too with your family, friends and colleagues. Be present.
Your life is controlled by what you focus on. Tony Robbins
You can’t do BIG things if you are distracted by small things.
Be at peace
If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present. Lao Tzu
Be about ACTIONS, not distraction. Distraction is a killer of dreams, visions and goals.
Be there for Jack
In honour of Jack Power, his mother Bonnie, wants us all to TOOT your horn if you see a driver distracted by being on the phone. Make them aware. No distractions saves lives. It is not enough to have campaigns. Each of us must make it happen. Toot your horn.
Love to all and especially to Bonnie Power and her family.
