WEEK 3 JULY 2012
It is very exciting times here in London with the Olympic Games only 10 days away and the first wave of Olympic athletes and officials have begun pouring into London. To warm you up for the weeks ahead, here is some great inspiration from past Olympians.
We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.
Jesse Owens – Winner of four gold medals at the 1936 Summer Olympics
Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision.
Muhammad Ali – Gold medallist, 1960 and three-time Lineal World Heavyweight Champion
Dream as big as you can dream and anything is possible.
Michael Phelps – Winner of eight gold medals in 2008
If you don’t have confidence, you’ll always find a way not to win.
Carl Lewis – Winner of nine gold medals and one silver medal, 1984-1992
When anyone tells me I can’t do anything, I’m just not listening anymore.
Florence Griffith-Joyner – Winner of three gold and two silver medals, 1984-1988
The Olympics remain the most compelling search for excellence that exists in sport, and maybe in life itself. Dawn Fraser – Winner of 8 medals, including 4 gold medals; one of only two swimmers to win the same Olympic event three times (100 metres freestyle – 1956, 1960, 1964).
