MARCH 2026
As we transition through Autumn and Spring, depending on where you are located, I am reminded once again that true peak performance is not a sprint, but a marathon. Whether you are an athlete preparing for competition, a leader guiding your team, or simply striving to be your best each day, one truth remains: energy is your most valuable resource.
In my years working with world-class performers, I have seen incredible talent and unwavering discipline. However, the difference between those who simply work hard and those who sustain excellence over time is not just in their training or mindset—it is in how they manage their energy.
THE POWER OF ENERGY MANAGEMENT
We often talk about time management, but energy management is the real secret to sustaining peak performance. Your energy is not infinite. It ebbs and flows throughout the day, shaped by your routines, your environment, and your choices.
Consider this: How do you recharge? When do you feel most energised? What drains you—mentally, physically, or emotionally?
Peak performers don’t just train harder—they recover smarter. They know when to push and when to pause. They build rituals that fuel their body, calm their mind, and restore their spirit. And they protect their energy as fiercely as they pursue their goals.
PRACTICAL WAYS TO MANAGE YOUR ENERGY
Start with awareness. Track your energy patterns for a week. Notice when you are most focused, creative, or fatigued. Use this insight to schedule your most important work when your energy is highest.
Build in recovery. Just as athletes alternate intense training with rest, you need regular recovery breaks. Step outside for a few minutes, breathe deeply, or take a short walk. Even a few moments can reset your system.
Fuel your body wisely. Nutrition and hydration are the foundation of sustained energy. Choose foods that nourish you, and don’t forget the power of a good night’s sleep.
Protect your boundaries. Say no to energy-draining commitments when possible. Make space for activities and people who uplift you.
Reconnect with your purpose. Meaningful work is energising. Remind yourself why you do what you do, especially on challenging days.
REFLECTION
What is one small change you could make this week to manage your energy more intentionally? Perhaps it’s a new morning ritual, a midday walk, or simply giving yourself permission to rest without guilt. Remember, small shifts—done consistently—create extraordinary results.
INSPIRATION
Energy, not time, is the fundamental currency of high performance. Jim Loehr
Protect your energy. It determines how you show up, how you perform, and ultimately, who you become.
Where your energy flows, your performance follows. Guard it wisely.
Every champion I’ve coached has learned this lesson: your energy determines everything. When you manage it well, you become more resilient, more focused, and more able to perform at your best—not just for a moment, but for the long run.
This month, become more intentional with how you use your energy. Notice it. Direct it. Invest it wisely. Because when you master your energy, you elevate everything.
Wishing you a month filled with clarity, vitality, and extraordinary energy.
